See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

Hello people, haven’t logged in here in a while (tbh it’s been years). That was meant to be like a little diary to me, but in the few last years, I haven’t felt like using this blog, due to my mental health I guess. Time went by and a lot of things happened, I also tried using different media, but in the end, I am still here, watching other blogs and following interest content. I will probably start posting again and eventually deleting my old posts, still don’t know. Hope everyone is just fine. Kiss!

Mammon’s Birthday ‘22 (spoilers ahead)

I must admit I was waiting for this event since Mammon is my favorite. The experience was… weird? I don’t know, I am not sure I enjoyed this event as I did for the other two birthdays honestly. If you enjoyed it, please do not feel offended by my post, it is just my personal opinion, nothing more.

To be honest, I did enjoy the alternative ending, but since you should use keys to experience it, I don’t find it fair that the most enjoyable and well-written part is the one you need to unlock.

First thing first. Starting from the beginning. We essentially see Lucifer promising Mammon a luxury holiday for his birthday if he manages to assist Diavolo in the human world. His brothers are worried about him because they’re sure he’s going to fail this task and end up losing his reward. On one hand I was happy to see Mammon’s brothers being sincerely concerned for his happiness and trying to help him out, on the other hand, Mammon is being again portrayed as a total idiot who can’t even tell the difference between orange and grapefruit. Yes, you heard that right. Lord Diavolo sends Mammon to buy oranges at the market and the MC and Satan, who have followed him secretly to assist him, had to come up with a plan to help him even with this simple task.

In the second part, Mammon thinks he can finally enjoy his vacation together with the MC but, of course, all the family joined him and they discover that the luxury holiday is at a Zoo… Lucifer has organized a treasure hunt for his little brother at a Zoo. Again, the other brothers have to help him, and when he finally found the prize, he discovered that his birthday present is a ticket to all the Devildom factories… At least this time not only Mammon is the one who gets upset, but his brothers too, Bill in particular.

The alternative ending is way more enjoyable. Mammon gets a real luxury holiday and a decent present from all his brothers, but, as I said before, the quality of the event increases a little just in the alternative ending. We get a romantic moment just at the very end (of the alternative ending), just for the sake of it. Furthermore, I can not bare to think that in an alternative timeline/universe, Mammon has to celebrate his birthday in a Zoo, and all he gets as a present is a ticket for visiting factories… C'mon devs, drop that joke already.

I know it is not such a big deal, I KNOW it is just a game, but since I am free to express my opinion, I think this wasn’t the best birthday Mammon had so far.

actually i’m reblogging this again with commentary, fuck it.

There’s people in the notes talking about “not basing your worth off numbers”, and like. that isn’t what this post is about. It’s not a threat, either, it’s a comment on how this site works, at a mechanical level.

Likes are worthless. Let me say that again.

Likes. Are. Worthless.

They don’t do anything. They’re a bookmark. They were never part of how tumblr works - in the early days we didn’t even have a like button, and the site still more or less acts as though we don’t. They’re personal bookmarks and the only people who “get” anything from them are you (you bookmark the post) and the OP (maybe a very slight serotonin boost), but they don’t keep the post in circulation, they don’t keep it alive.

Without reblogs, a post will be dead in the water within an hour. No matter how good it is, no matter how many hours of painstaking love and attention its creator put into it, it will be dead within an hour and never seen again. It gets pushed down the dashboard and nobody aside from the followers who were online when it was posted will see it.
And there’s a huge difference in engagement on posts that get even one lucky reblog from someone with wider reach - that one reblog shows your post to five, ten, fifteen other people, and if one of those people also reblogs it, and so on and so forth, that’s how posts stay alive and in circulation.
It’s like a contagion, but we’re sharing creativity instead of disease.

And that matters. That “lifespan” of the post matters, artists and writers give up on this site and go to sites where posts have longer lifespans because it sucks to spend hours of your life, maybe even days, to get two notes and some fucking pocket lint for your efforts.
We create for ourselves, but we share because we want people to see it, because that engagement offers positive feedback and encouragement to continue.
But more than that, if every post (whether art, fic, gifset, whatever) is dying within an hour or a day of being posted, that means it’s not making it onto your dashboard. And if it’s not on your dashboard, you won’t see it. This kills the site, after a while. You stop seeing the posts, because nobody is putting them on your dashboard, because this site doesn’t have an algorithm like twitter and insta’s and it shouldn’t, it’s the last bastion of chronological timelines.

Forgive my giant fucking rant I am so tired right now and full of the plague but like stop acting like artists and writers are just being whiny little babies, or “threatening” to withhold our fucking work (you’re not entitled to it! it’s ours! if we get nothing out of sharing it we’re well within our rights to keep it private!) when we say this site will dry up without reblogs. We’re just stating facts.

also I’ve seen some people in the tags say ‘oh there have always been more likes on posts’ no there haven’t ????

Why the MC is represented by a sheep in OBEY ME?

image

There are many posts about this topic for sure, so I apologize if someone has already theorized what I am going to say. Also, I would like to say that this is just my point of you, everyone has their ideas and can agree or not agree with what I am going to say here.

So, getting to the point. It is already known that Obey me! is based on Christian lore.

In the Christian religion, the sheep symbolized purity. However, sheep are also used as sacrificial animals. In the Bible (see Numbers 6:14, Leviticus 14:10, Exodus 12:5) sheep are often sacrificed to God. Even Jesus Christ becomes a sacrificial lamb to redeem humanity from their sins (Revelation 5:12).

We know how in the game Lilith was meant to be “sacrificed” for her crime If we want to call it that way, but that never happened because she died during the war against the Celestial Realm. Not only that but she was also reincarnated as a human thanks to Diavolo.

Mc is their descendant and that could mean that they still carry Lilith’s sin. What if for this reason, at some point in the story, the MC risk becoming a sacrificial lamb? We already know that MC has risked their life during the story. It could be that the celestial realm still wants their blood as an offer.

There could be another explanation though. In the Bible, the lamb is also the symbol of the shepherd, the one who helps the lost one. In this context, the shepherd becomes a guide and the defender of the people in need. God is described as a shepherd in the Bible ( see Thessalonians 3:3) and also Christ chose the title of shepherd when referring to himself (Matthew 11:29). This way Jesus becomes at the same time the sacrificial lamb and the shepherd who guides others to a rightful path. Mc could be seen in this same light, which means as a guide for the brothers and all the people who live near them and benefit from their influence.

To conclude, those are all just speculation and probably there’s no hidden meaning behind it. I just thought that it could be nice to share that here and hear what you guys also think. Let me know in the comments!

Paper talisman in Kimetsu no Yaiba (demon slayer)

Does anyone know if the talismans Yushiro uses in Kimetsu no Yaiba are actual Japanese paper talismans or are just invented (I’m referring to the eye-shaped symbol)? Something similar is used in the tv show Mononoke by Kusuriuri (the medicine seller).

Let me know guys!

OM and demon mythology

Since I am a games lover and demon-based games are, of course, one of my favorites, I was curious to ask the OM players what are their thoughts about the masquerade ball event.

The cards we have for this particular event depict Asmodeus, Satan, and Mammon. We have two sides for each card and the other side shows the tree demons wearing masks inspired by Japanese mythology. This is not my field, so I am sorry if I am going to say something inaccurate.

The sad thing is the game does not explore these aspects, even if the game has supernatural nuances. I don’t want to complain though, since this is a gotcha game that has other priorities. For that reason, I am going to share my ideas with you, hoping you can find this post if not interesting, at least entertaining. Let’s begin then.

  • Asmodeus and the Kitsune mask: I like this association since Asmodeus is, despite being a demon, an entity that represents love, sexuality, kindness, and closeness to human beings. The kitsune is a spirit well known for shapeshifting and living in a very close relationship with humans. These foxes are also known for shapeshifting to beautiful women the majority of the time, which is another thing that can be associated with Asmodeus since he represents beauty and feminine energy.

  • Satan and the Oni mask: originally I mistook this mask for a tengu, but as one of you pointed out, Satan’s mask symbolizes an Oni. An Oni can be a demon, but it is not necessarily evil. Usually, it is portrayed with a red, black, white, or even yellow body. Initially seen simply as souls of the dead, the Oni became, especially when referred to as kishin, a wicked soul with a hunger for human flesh. According to mythology, it can cause calamities such as plague, war, or earthquakes. It is believed to change his form to a handsome man to better allure its victims. As a demon, Satan can have lots in common with this entity. Surely his wrath is what combines him with this particular demon (thank you @o-n-i-c-h-a-n for your account).

  • Mammon and the crow/Karasu mask: we already know thanks to the game that Mammon has a strong relation to crows and ravens. He has a lot in common with these animals. He is not only attracted to precious things such as coins, jewelry, and similar, but he is also a trickster-like creature and very smart. Yes, he is. Since he represents the trickster archetype such as Loki and Hermes, who are not by chance protectors of thieves, he is very smart indeed. As for the mask he’s wearing in the card, we can assume that represents Karasu or Yatagarasu, the three-legged crow. This creature is already present in the game as a helper for the mc and a symbol appearing as an emote in chats. This creature is often a guide for those who see it and that is particularly true for Mammon since he is not only a guide for the mc but also a protector in general.

As I said I am not an expert on Japanese folklore, for that reason feel free to correct me or add something to this post. Maybe you have noticed some details I didn’t see in those cards. I am eager to know your opinion on that! If you are curious to see the other cards, you can find all the cards on this useful website:

you can find all the cards you are interested in just by searching for the character, rarity, or attribute.
